Effective Communication Skills with 10 Important Guidelines

The first and foremost thing in building your career will be your communication. Having a good communication skill will help you to keep top in the list always. You can be a topper in your college. But when you come out, it needs to be conveyed. Else your topper remark will not be notified. You need to sell yourself to the society/Interviewer/Employer. It can be done only through effective communication.

Lets check a sample here. There are 2 salesmen in a town,both sells sarees. Eventhough both had same goods, there is difference in their sales rate. The person with low income inquired the other guy for his profit. The benefited guy replied that , "People are different, so to convince each we need to follow different stratergies. And importantly being a salesman you need to have proper interaction with the people, so that you can get know what they really need."

10 Things to follow in Communication:

If you think you are falling behind due to communication skills then you need to follow these tricks to achieve your proficiency.

1. Be Strong in your language 

When you speak make sure that you are more strong in your language you speak so that you dont commit any mistakes when you talk.

2. Be Clear in your points.

First you be clear with your points. So that you can make others clear about the points.

3. Audible to others.

Dont talk to yourself it should be audible to all present in your room. It may be a conference,debate,group discussion,interview. Your voice needs to reach all.

4. Make others Understandable.

Dont talk in language that the opponent understand. Leave little gaps when you speak.

5. Be Positive.

When you start a conversation start with positive attitude. People need only positive minded guys to work.

Your eye contact is important in conversation. When you speak make sure you look at the opponent eyes and proceed.

7. Be confident.

If your confidence, then your communication will be perfect by default. Confidence is achieved when you practise your language well.

8. Practise.

As said before to build your confidence level, practise is a must. With practise you can correct your mistakes with clear outcome.

9.  Make it Short and Simple.

Dont elaborate. Use only simple words and Short sentences to convey. So that your opponent can follow your points easily.

10. Smile when you communicate.

Always smile, when you talk. It attracts the opponent to talk with you.

Dont's:

1. Dont be aggressive.
2. Listen to your opponent and speak.
3. No Stories.
4. No Hesitation.
5. Don't Panic.
6. No memorizing of points.

Communication can't be achieved overnight, it needs practise. Speak a lot with your friends/relatives in English, as this has became an offical language to communicate. Read more, it may be newspaper, novels, poems whatever you like.
